I reconciled my DNA data into two helices
By January 1953 I had reconciled conflicting diffraction data and concluded that both DNA forms had two helices. My A-DNA manuscripts reached Acta Crystallographica on 6 March 1953, before I knew of the Cambridge model.

I separated DNA into its A and B forms
I built a humidity-controlled camera chamber at King's College London and used it to show that DNA exists in two forms, which I named A and B — a result that reshaped the research on the molecule.

I read molecular structure from X-ray diffraction
I am a chemist and X-ray crystallographer. My research science reveals the molecular structures of DNA, RNA, viruses, coal and graphite from the patterns X-rays leave on film.
